Cat-inspired fashion is everywhere, from earrings to shirts to sweaters. It even made an appearance at Fashion week!

Surprisingly, I have yet to jump on this craze, however, I am a fan of any one who can rock this look!

What is a group of cats called?

July 15, 2013 - Author: Bummer

So… a questions arose today about cats that I did not know the answer to.

Question:

When referring to my cats as a group, what is that called?

Knowing that there must be a word to describe a group of cats other than just saying my “cats”… I turned to Google.com, and wiki answers provided the following:

Answer:
The correct term for referring to a group of cats is ‘clowder’.  There are also two other valid ways to refer to a group of cats, which are ’clutter’ and ‘glaring’.
In addition to this, if one wants to refer to a group of wild cats, the correct terms are ‘dowt’ and ‘destruction’. A male cat, when neutered, is called a “gib”, when not, is called a “tom”. Female cats are known as “molly”.
The word “cat” itself derives from the Old English “catt”. Catt has its source in the Late Latin “catus”, meaning: “domestic cat”. This Late Latin word probably derives from an Afro-Asiatic word: “kaddîska”, meaning “wild cat”.
Of Course, google provided more info than a simple one word answer, but I now know what a group of cats are properly called and much, much, more.  and now so do you!

 Thursday Joke of the Day:

Teacher: If I gave you 2 cats and another 2 cats and another 2, how many will you have?

Johnny: Seven, Sir.

Teacher: No, listen carefully.

If I gave you 2 cats, and another 2 cats and another 2, how many will you       have?

Johnny: Seven.

Teacher: Let me put it to you  differently.

If I gave you 2 apples, and another 2 apples and another 2, how many will  you have?

 Johnny: Six.

Teacher: Good. Now if I gave you 2 cats, and another 2 cats and another 2, how many will you have?

 Johnny: Seven!!!

A very angry Teacher: Where in the  hell do you get seven from?!?!?

A very angry Johnny:       Because,….I’ve already got a freakin’ cat!!!

Cat Toys

May 10, 2013 - Author: Bummer

Does your cats hoard their toys?

TV and Radio do.  They each received a stocking for Christmas with a ton of catnip covered toys in them, ranging from bell filled balls to stuffed mice.  Needless to say, they were more than thrilled with this gift.   I would let them have 1 or 2 new toys a day until the stockings were just about empty.  This was back in December, so 5 months later I am wondering… where did all their toys disappeared to?!  Their beds are positioned under a cubicle inside of a card board box.  Yesterday, I was giving them a fresh new box to sleep in, and lo and behold!! Mountains of toys!  I brought them all out and covered them with fresh catnip, they were loving it.  So much, that TV sat with her toys for a good 20 minutes like this:

Weird.
